Day 7

Thursday 22nd April 1999

Everyone had a lie in this morning, either exhausted from the previous days activities, or tired from Matthew’s night-time talking. I had a recommendation to have a meal at a ‘International House of Pancakes’ and so we decided to try the nearest one out for breakfast for a change. Food was cooked a strangely and we didn’t really enjoy it, so back to the hotel restaurant tomorrow.

Wet N Wild

On the itinerary today was one of the water parks, Wet N Wild which is at the northern end of International Drive.

On arrival we quickly got changed and found a table to set up base and then went swimming in the large wave pool.

Unfortunately, I think every one else decided to do the same thing so we went and tried the water slides instead.

Firstly Abby and me rode down a water slide each in a rubber ring , great fun but difficult to control and eventually at the end I went under, with Tina not missing a good photo opportunity.

Then Abby, Matthew and me went on another water slide, this time in a dinghy.

This was also good fun and we all went on this again later in the day when the queues died down.

During the rest of the day we tried most of the other slides and in between cooled off swimming in the ‘Lazy River’.

At the end of the day we all agreed that it had been good fun and we’ll return later in the holiday.

International Drive

We then headed south along International Drive and got stuck in a traffic jam (normally unheard of in this area).

On the TV news later it appeared that there was an armed siege that afternoon.

We revisited the ‘Sizzler’ restaurant for dinner, but the service the second time wasn’t so good, but still an enjoyable meal.

Back at the hotel we watched some TV and then went to bed.
